North America’s ‘3’ Most Underrated Travel Destinations

North America, the U.S. in particular is a holiday favorite for tourists from the world over. The Business Insider published a feature last year about some of the most underrated destinations in the region.

3 Travel Destinations in the U.S. You Need to Visit

Given our experience with travel and globetrotting as a travel agency offering cheap air tickets and other travel facilitation, we know a thing or two about places worth visiting. We figured we’d review a few places we find underrated and think are well worth a visit within the U.S.

Black Hills – South Dakota

Made famous by the Doris Day number – The Black Hills of Dakota the area that shares a name with this song is just as gorgeous as the music that was made as a nod to it! The hills themselves are mysterious and full of character and offer visitors magical trails for trekking and exploration.

This region is also home to national monuments such as Mt. Rushmore and locations such as the Sturgis motorcycle museum. Finally, this region has in a sense held on to the old timey wild west feel and is a great place to explore if you want to get a sense of what the energy was like. You also have areas such as the badlands which are wonderful for serious adventure junkies.

Bar Harbor – New England

Another location that is definitely off the beaten path but well worth anyone’s time is Bar Harbor – New England. The name in a sense speaks for itself! If you’re someone who likes the fresh smell of sea air and enjoys your bar hopping and drink about as much, this gorgeous little stop is just for you.

With a friendly local population, scenic hills, an ocean to look out to and obviously a range of colorful bars and restaurants; if you’re ever down by the coast of Maine, don’t forget to stop here!

Boise – Idaho

Boise offers a brilliant blend of urban and outdoor activity opportunities. With everything from a thriving art community and environment conscious local laws, this place is a great stop for the young and adventurous.

The region is also famous for its wineries as well as for the numerous festivals that happen there including local music and drinking festivals. If that’s the kind of excitement you’re into, you absolutely must visit Boise!

Winding Down

There are scores of other regions you can visit when you get to North America. If you’re already sold on the trip and are looking to make travel arrangements, we can help!
